Mon, 25 Oct 2010 zoo in linz (0 comments)
ninsti paid me a visit in linz over the weekend. so we decided to go to a zoo again (like we did in reykjavík about a month ago). the zoo in linz is a bit bigger than the one in iceland, and there was also a larger variety of animals.
so we enjoyed lynx, alpacas, firefoxes, all kind of birds, pigs, goats, sheeps, monkeys, spiders, snakes, meerkats, ducks, parrots, donkeys, and a little cat (of course). and i'm pretty sure i forgot some more animals we encountered. as the weather was not that fine, we were pretty the only ones going to the zoo this day. just as we know it.

Fri, 27 Oct 2006 zoo linz (again) (0 comments)
it's the (first, second) third time zombiequeen and i have been to this small, but really lovely zoo close to linz, on the poestlingberg. they have a large amount of animals and the sizes of the cages seem to be very ok for the animals. according to the behaviour of the animals, they seem to live with that very well - no stimming, no signs of auto-aggressions.
zombiequeen especially wanted to see the alpacas (she already fell in love with these animals in walding) and "garo", a little panda bear we saw for the first time (though i doubt this really is a panda-bear, but the sign said so, and it looks so absolutely damn cute). garo used to hide the other times we have been to the zoo, but today garo was a real poser - lucky us!

Sun, 21 May 2006 a visit to the zoo in lince (0 comments)
zombiequeen and i decided to take a (half-)day off from our diploma thesis work and so we went to the zoo on the
poestlingberg. a revisit actually, as we have already been there in october, 2003 (*). unfortunately we missed the panda "garo" again. its cage was a construction site. unlucky us.
but we took comfort in all the other animals we saw. there were wallabies, monkeys, birds, lynxes, guinea pigs, roe deer, strange rodents, llamas, badgers, turtles, donkeys, snakes, geckos, fishes, rabbits, hamsters, coatis, and a puma(!).
see all those cute animals here.
